What we are playing is a weekly column that appears each weekend. Various staff members let the world know which games have had them hooked over the past week and which they’re looking forward to.

Steve Melton – Beat [easyazon-link asin=”B004FYEZMQ” locale=”us”]Mass Effect 3[/easyazon-link], but now I’m torn between trading it in while I can still get money for it or waiting for the inevitable epilogue DLC. I think I’ll sit on it for a while and see what Bioware’s other DLC is like. Fans will get news in April anyway. Other than that I spent Friday and Saturday night playing Reach and Voltron.

Perry Jackson – Picked up Sine Mora and I’m really hooked on it. It’s got a neat time mechanic that works well for seasoned shmup players and newcomers. But that story is amazing! Weird but in a Porco Rosso way. I also picked up Voltron while it was on sale and it’s totally fun for 400 MSP, not so much 800 MSP but maybe that’s my nostalgia heart.

Christine Mitchell – I’m still trying to save the galaxy in Mass Effect 3. I feel quite disappointed with it so far and haven’t even reached this controversial ending yet. Maybe my expectations were too high?

Nick Santangelo – Played some Sine Mora early in the week, and you can scooch on over to my review page for my full thoughts on it. (Spoilers: I liked it.) Otherwise it was all Mass Effect 3. I’m really not feeling Galaxy at War, but I got a few rounds of it in anyways. More importantly, I finished the campaign. This is my favorite new franchise since… I don’t even know, maybe Zelda. Yeah. Without spoiling things, I’ll just say that I enjoyed the ending but wish it was far longer and more explanatory.

Todd Schlickbernd – I’ve played so many things lately! I played some Nexuiz (which is still fun, deal with it), and some Defenders of Ardania (which is… a game), followed by tons of Sine Mora. Sine Mora’s a great bullet hell, but beyond that the story is actually worth following, despite being narrated in Hungarian. I rounded out my week with a bit of Geometry Wars 2, just barely missing Ross’s Pacifism score. Damn.

Nathan Bowring – I got [easyazon-link asin=”B003O6C9LK” locale=”us”]SSX[/easyazon-link] this week. I sat down to play it, and the next thing I knew two days had passed.

Mark Seymour – Played the [easyazon-link asin=”B003O6G5TW” locale=”us”]Battlefield 3[/easyazon-link] level Operation Swordbreaker repeatedly as part of my dissertation research. If I have to wait a thousand years to play it again it’ll be too soon. Desperate to play [easyazon-link asin=”B005DVAB1Y” locale=”us”]Ninja Gaiden 3[/easyazon-link]; it looks appalling in the most hilarious way. I’d be sad but [easyazon-link asin=”B001YI0Z2U” locale=”us”]Bayonetta[/easyazon-link] has filled the void.
