On the heels of the leaked achievements hinting at new multiplayer modes, Popcap has spilled the beans on the console debut of Plants vs Zombies. As of now there is no word of bringing the lovable sunflowers and peashooters to anywhere else but XBLA in September. Well, that’s not entirely true. You will be able to buy PvZ both on XBLA and in a retail disk form that includes Peggle and Zuma. Amazon has the boxed copy available for preorder for $20 while the downloadable version will be priced at 1200 Microsoft points. For now Amazon has the release date as September 28th but these things are subject to change.

The reasons to pick up PvZ yet another time have grown (as if you really needed any other reasons); the co-op and competitive multiplayer modes have been confirmed along with minigames exclusive to this new version.

This will mark the third time in 15 months that I will play through everything PvZ has to offer and will continue to do so if it is released on other platforms.

Below are the first screenshots of the game. Enjoy.
