Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Release Date Announced

The Blue Blur (not to be confused with Capcom’s Blue Bomber) will be starring in his first numbered sequel with 16 years behind it in under two weeks time. Duke Nukem ain’t got nothing on the Hedgehog. Sega has announced that Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1 will be debuting on XBLA on Wednesday October 13th.

Not since 1994 have we seen a truly promising 2D Sonic game come to home consoles. Sure, there have been re-releases of the first few titles for download and some great portable entries in the series, but Sonic in full HD-2.5D is something fanboys have clamored about for close to a decade. Below is the newest trailer set in the Mad Gear Zone for your viewing pleasure. It’s the closest thing we’ll get to a Dreamcast 2.
