Renegade Ops getting frosty with new Coldstrike campaign and Vehicle DLC

We posted a rumor that Renegade Ops would be seeing some DLC in the near future and it looks like that turned out to be true. Sega announced today that we’ll be seeing two new DLC packs on December 21 with one for campaign and new vehicles for the other one. In the new Coldstrike campaign, you’ll be facing off against a new villain with three new levels and new enemy types to destroy. It’ll set you back 400 MSP on its release. The new Vehicle Pack DLC will add two new heroes with Crystal using a large-force field and custom armor while Blazemo has an off-road terrain vehicle that’s great against multiple terrains so nothing stands in your path to destruction. It’ll set you back 240 MSP for both heroes and catch some new screenshots after the break of the arctic explosions.

Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet: Shadow Hunters review (XBLA DLC)

Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet: Shadow Hunters was developed by FuelCell and Gagne Int’l and published by Microsoft. It was released October 12, 2011 for 400 MSP. A copy was provided for review purposes.

We loved Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet when it came out in August this year. Of the few criticisms we had, one the staff all agreed on was that it was over too quickly. The game had a really great self-contained campaign with a fun multiplayer mode but it could have had more. But now we have more in the form of DLC entitled Shadow Hunters.

The DLC continues right when the story left off as you leave the Shadow Planet and find out more planets have been infected with the Shadow monsters. Now it’s up to you and three co-op buddies to solve the mystery and destroy the rest of the creatures. Does it combine the best elements of campaign and multiplayer or does it feel forced?

Radiant Silvergun review (XBLA)

Radiant Silvergun review (XBLA)

Radiant Silvergun was developed by Treasure. It was released September 14, 2011 and retails for 1200 MSP. A copy of the game was provided for review purposes.

Way back in 1998 a little game called Radiant Silvergun was released in Japanese arcades. Shortly thereafter it was ported to the Sega Saturn, but again only in Japan. But a funny thing happened that really doesn’t happen all that often. Somehow through word of mouth and game magazine hype this little game developed a following in the rest of the world. People started importing the game so they could play it. The only problem was that RSG was a limited release even by Japanese standards. Prices skyrocketed. Even today a copy for the Saturn could fetch between $150 – $200. Out of the reach of most gamers, this game continued to have great word of mouth for the last decade. It was, in truth, one of the most popular games that no one had ever played. But that is all behind us now. Finally the rest of the world gets to see what Radiant Silvergun is all about.
