Capcom Digital Collection releasing in not-so-digital form on March 27

Capcom has announced that the Capcom Digital Collection will hit North American retailers on March 27. Gamers over in Europe will get the bundle of eight XBLA titles a few days later on March 30. Bionic Commando: Rearmed 2, Final Fight: Double Impact (two games), Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo HD Remix, Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix, 1942: Joint Strike, Flock!, Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3 and Rocketman: Axis of Evil. It’s quite the mouthful.

Downloading each and every one of those games on XBLA would equate to a triple digit price tag. All of them bundled together in the Capcom Digital Collection, however, will cost just $39.99.

Capcom XBLA titles scheduled for retail shelves

We have seen many XBLA games come to retail shelves over the past years. As Xbox LIVE Arcade games keep picking up in popularity, so does the companies willingness to serve up a retail helping. In the past we have seen companies like Konami and Pop Cap and now Capcom will be jumping in with a huge 8 title disc. No clue when it will be releasing yet, but we do know that it will cost $40 USD (3200 MSP). This is a steal since it would cost you more then double that to purchase each game separately via the marketplace. You now know the price and why it is a money saver, but on to what really matters, what do you get for your money.

World Gone Sour: gameplay, details and pricing

Ever dreamed of being a tiny little Sour Patch Kid or better yet, taking a journey in which the ultimate destination was a human stomach? No, us either, but apparently someone at Capcom did and they are bringing that idea to life. This new action platformer takes you on a wild adventure across tons of giant environments, rescuing other lost Sour Patch Kids while battling crazy candy enemies. The new gameplay trailer is slap full of tasty tidbits, showing off what looks like a well made game. This sweet treat will be rolling out the package this spring for 400 MSP. But if you can’t wait, you can pick it up on PC now, for the low low price of $4.99.

Arena shooter Nexuiz to be published by Capcom (UPDATED: Actually THQ)

Earlier this year, we brought you an in-depth preview of Nexuiz, a fast paced multiplayer arena shooter in the same vein as Quake and Unreal. Yesterday, the game resurfaced through the Austrialian Classification Database. As it turns out, Capcom will be publishing the game when it makes its debut on XBLA. Unfortunately we still don’t have a release date, but the good news is that you will find a quick gameplay clip of the game from PAX 2010 above thanks to IGN. We’re sure the game has evolved quite a bit since then, but it’s gameplay footage nonetheless. Stay tuned for more lightning quick Nexuiz coverage here at XBLAFans as we move forward into the future.

UPDATE: Joystiq recently got in touch with Capcom about the recent Nexuiz news. As it turns out, the listing was an error. In actuality, THQ will be publishing Nexuiz when it makes its debut on XBLA. The confusion seems to have occurred because Capcom and THQ sometimes partner in publishing games in the land down under. While further details on Nexuiz continue to elude us, we hope that the trademark being filed means we’ll hear more soon.

Street Fighter 3 Color Pack DLC is broken

There are several DLC packs planned for Street Fighter 3: Third Strike Online Edition. But they are unfortunately getting off to a bad start. Yesterday the first color pack was released and it turns out it contained “incorrect files”. Needless to say the color palette swaps do not work. Capcom has admitted as much. They have asked that anyone who bought the pack contact them via their support page for further support. They are working hard to fix the problem so hopefully it will be resolved soon.

Resident Evil remakes get trailer, it’s not in English though

Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil: Code Veronica are both are both getting the HD treatment as they make their way onto XBLA later this year. So far only thing we have seen for these games is a teaser trailer celebrating 15 years of Resident Evil, which had a few seconds of the two games and a handful of screenshots. Today Capcom released a Japanese trailer showcasing the two games and giving us a glimpse of what we have to look forward too.

Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike’s details gushed from Seth Killian

Several details on the upcoming Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike Online Edition release have come forth from Capcom’s Seth Killian. In an interview with Destructoid, Seth talked on some of the training modes, nifty online features and other superficial (and yet awesome) details that will give SFIII‘s return to glory a little something EX-tra for the fans. The video can be found after the jump, but here’s a quick list of the features mentioned in the interview:

  • As you play, challenges show up that can be achieved for currency used in the game’s vault unlock system. There are hundreds of them and they get more and more difficult as you progress.
  • The menu features redrawn portraits of each of the characters. While which character is random, your most-played character has greater favor with the gods of randomness.
  • Several settings to customize your fighting experience including standard or widescreen, filters that change the game’s look from new to old or more like the arcade and more.
  • Different chip sets including the re-balanced version as well as the initial version complete with unblockables.
  • Trials to learn the mechanics of the game or a specific character ranging from easy to hard; parry one fireball or parry all of Chun-li’s super as Diago did that famous Evo.
  • GGPO online network coding, tournament modes, spectating, pre-game button remapping and Youtube match uploads give SFIII Online Edition a robust showing on the XBLA.
