New Bloodforge screens have massive enemies

We haven’t heard much on Bloodforge since the trailer reveal but some new screenshots emerged on their Facebook. What’s interesting to note in these screenshots is the gigantic enemies the are more than double the size of your character. One of the captions mention that the best form of attack is defense which hopefully leads to more blood being shed as you defeat these giant enemies. One thing’s for certain, we can’t wait to see this game more in action early next year. Check out the other screenshot after the break.

Alan Wake shares more details on his American Nightmare

The news train doesn’t stop rolling on Alan Wake’s American Nightmare as Xbox World Magazine had an eight-page feature on the upcoming XBLA game launching sometime in the first quarter of 2012.

The game will have an open-world structure, similar to what the original Alan Wake was going to feel like as you return to locations throughout the story. We also know the game takes place two years after the original where Alan has confined himself to the Dark Place beneath Cauldron Lake. But a new legend arrives where it’s said that after Alan vanished into the woods, he became Mr. Scratch, the antagonist of the game. It’s up to Alan to stop Mr. Scratch before it manifests and kills his wife, Alice. You’ll also learn about the events to some of the other characters via new manuscripts, TVs and radios. The combat has also seen improvement with smarter enemy A.I. that will react to your flashlight movements. But Alan has new weapons like uzis and nailguns in order to take down the enemies. We can’t wait to get our hands on a nailgun for this when it hits digital shelves next year.

More news on Alan Wake’s American Nightmare

The reveal of Alan Wake’s American Nightmare excited everyone here from the debut trailer at the Spike VGAs last night. Now we have some new details on the game from a Finnish Xbox magazine on what to expect from the new atmosphere.

It’ll be based in the Arizona/Route 66 area and takes place in an episode of “Night Springs”, the fictional TV show Wake used to write for. The feel of the game will be more similar to Quentin Tarantino’s From Dusk Till Dawn. It will also take many hours to complete and a new Arcade mode entitled “Fight Till Dawn” which has you fighting waves and waves of enemies. This will also not be the last of Alan Wake, further confirming this is a new adventure and not Alan Wake 2. All of this sounds spine-chilling and will keep your fingers quivering as it releases early next year.

Alan Wake XBLA title not ‘Alan Wake 2′ according to Remedy

Earlier this week, we wrote a post about Geoff Keightly seeing the teaser for the rumored Alan Wake’s Night Springs for XBLA and he discussed how it’s effectively “Alan Wake 2 when you really look at it”. But Remedy believe otherwise when employee Mikko Rautalahti responded on the Remedy forums about Keighly’s claims.

While they’re very “glad that he’s excited about it, he’s obviously saying very nice things and we’re proud of the game!” but Rautalahti states “I think that since he invokes the ‘Alan Wake 2‘ name, I should reiterate what we’ve said all along: this new game is not Alan Wake 2, and if we intended it to be that, we’d have named it that.” This all leads to believe that Remedy have other plans for what Alan Wake 2 might be and the XBLA title will be from an entirely different light. We’ll bring you more news and the trailer when it’s announced at the Spike VGAs on December 10.

Rayman 3 Hoodlum Havoc heading to XBLA in the spring

While we were bummed Rayman Origins didn’t end up as an XBLA title, it’s still an amazingly gorgeous platformer and we’re happy it got released. But that doesn’t mean we won’t get a Rayman title in the near future and now we do in the form of the classic Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc. Ubisoft announced today that a brand new HD remake of the game will be releasing in the spring for XBLA. It’ll feature pretty graphics at 60 fps, nine stand-alone mini-games, achievements and online leaderboard support with up to 15-20 hours of single player gameplay. Make sure your limbs are invisible and stick to XBLAFans for more information on this classic platformer.

Deep Black bringing underwater action to XBLA in 2012

Biart and 505 Games are looking to shake up the action genre by adding an emphasis on water in their new XBLA action game Deep Black. It will offer a mix of land and underwater based combat where you’ll have to mix up your jetpack and harpoon in order to survive battles. There’ll be 40 single player missions and will feature an engrossing storyline with espionage, mystery and bio-terror. Not to mention the graphics and underwater effects look great as do the underwater takedowns that the player can utilize. Make sure your harpoon is equipped for the swim as Deep Black is scheduled for release in early 2012. Catch the video of the PC version up top and a shout out to @lifelower for the tip.

‘Splosion Man and Ms. ‘Splosion Man make a stop in Retro City Rampage

While Brian Provinciano is currently promoting Retro City Rampage at MineCon in Las Vegas, a new trailer appeared on their Twitter that should satisfy your explosive XBLA side. You’ll be able to visit Big Science and play in 8-bit ‘Splosion Man levels. The gameplay looks exactly the same as the original but in that wonderful pixelated look. Even the music is the same and 8-bit! You’ll also get to peruse around the city as the explosive character himself, exploding pedestrians and causing destruction. At the end, Ms. ‘Splosion Man makes an appearance to join in on the fun. The waiting for this game with no release date is becoming more and more grueling but with reveals like these, we’re just waiting to see what’s around the corner for Retro City Rampage.
