FarSight Studios’ The Pinball Arcade  has seen direct competition on the Xbox 360 from the more established Pinball FX 2. Players are divided on which game is better; Pinball FX 2 has the lion’s share of the tables, but The Pinball Arcade is the only one with virtual editions of real-world tables. But while PlayStation 3 players currently enjoy 17 tables, Xbox 360 owners have only 10 tables, a full three add-on packs behind what’s available to the Sony crowd. In December, FarSight noted in a community newsletter that the delay is due to a change in publishers for the game and its content on the Xbox 360. The original publisher, Crave Games (also known as Crave Entertainment), filed for bankruptcy in October 2012.

“We are happy to announce that we’ve selected a new publisher for the Xbox 360 version of the Pinball Arcade! We are in the final stages of contracting, and we will make an announcement when we know when new tables will be released for the Xbox 360. Thanks for your patience during this transition!”

The next scheduled table on the PlayStation 3 is Twilight Zone, but no official release date has been set. Once Twilight Zone has been released another table pack with the Attack from Mars and Genie tables is, well, on the table. FarSight is shooting for a February release for Twilight Zone. The classic table Centaur won a recent poll on the game’s website in which fans chose the next table they wanted to see, so it’s likely that we’ll see it in a future lineup.
