The second developer diary for Worms Revolution moves beyond the series’ history to discuss the improvements made to the battlefields of the newest installment. The game’s new engine not only allows for a 3D world, but also improved particle effects including smoke. Objects in the world will no longer be part of the landscape, they will have their own separate physics and traits. Then there is the dynamic water, which will realistically flow and wash away objects (and worms) in its path. Any worm caught underwater will experience dampened movement, and will take damage at the end of every turn. It seems the environment will play a larger role in battle than ever before, and water will now be a useful tool rather than a dreaded pool of insta-death. Worms Revolution will release Q3 2012.
