It’s been common knowledge for a while that Sega has plans to release three more of its classics on XBLA, PlayStation Network and PC this fall. Now, the company’s officially announced and dated the titles with a new trailer, which it’s dubbed the Sega Heritage Collection.

Releasing first is the well-regarded Dreamcast title Jet Set Radio (also known as Jet Grind Radio in the States), which hit shelves in 2000. The cel-shaded smash puts players in the shoes of rollerblading taggers fighting back against the man and expressing themselves one can of spray paint at a time. It’s widely considered one of the premier titles to hit Sega’s final home console.

Hitting in October are the 2001 Dreamcast sequel Sonic Aventure 2 and Sega Saturn’s critically acclaimed 1996 title NiGHTS into DREAMS…. Sonic Adventure 2 is the sequel to what’s widely regarded as one of the best 3D Sonic titles; the game is arguably the last title before the entire franchise went off the rails (and is notorious if for nothing else than introducing Shadow the Hedgehog, who would go on to star as the titular character in a 2005 action title considered one of the worst of the franchise).

NiGHTS follows two children who travel into a dream world to help a flying jester, Nights, fight back against an evil wizard and his army of evil Nightmaren.  Developed by Sonic Team, the game was a smash hit on release, and consistently finds its way onto “greatest games” lists. A sequel, NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams, was released for the Nintendo Wii in 2007.

The three games that make up the Heritage Collection will release in the next few weeks. JSR hits XBLA Sept. 19 for 800 MSP, while NiGHTS and Sonic Adventure hit in October (no set date or pricing, though it’s safe to assume those will be 800 MSP as well).
