Last week Starfire Studios and Microsoft announced an intriguing new game titled Fusion: Genesis. The game is described as a twin-stick shooter, with elements of a massive multiplayer online game. This may have left many scratching their heads trying to conceptualize this bold new concept. Today we’re able to bring you more details and a batch of new screenshots to help clarify the picture. Read on for further details and a gallery of new images!

Today’s update is all about numbers. Fusion: Genesis will have not one, but six unique story lines that allow you to to become a trader, mercenary, peacekeeper, military loyalist, or a devout seeker. This is made possible by the game’s “always connected” world which you are free to explore. That means you’ll be facing off with both AI controlled enemies, as well as other players who may join in and help you in hundreds of the game’s quests, or engage you in PvP combat, depending on their mood. All of this takes place in the game world, as opposed to static multiplayer arenas designated by most games. You’ll have over 100 ships to choose from, with over 1,000 upgrades and customizations at your disposal to help you stand out from the crowd. On top of it all, Fusion: Genesis will connect Fusion: Sentient, a Windows Phone 7 game that is also currently in development.

We hope this plethora of new details help clarify the game’s unique setup and concept. Fusion: Genesis does not currently have a release date, but you can bet your devious alien plot for universal dominance that we’ll bring you more coverage of the game as soon as we can.
