The recently announced Metal Gear Solid HD and Zone of the Enders HD Collections will apparently be released on XBLA in addition to the planned retail release. We have few details other than that and in fact there’s a little confusion about whether they will actually see an XBLA release or rather come to Live Marketplace. While the games official site makes mention of Xbox Live Arcade several other sources refer to the Marketplace instead.
It is likely this is just something lost in translation and the collections are in fact coming to XBLA, following in the footsteps of games like Beyond Good & Evil. For those unaware the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection will contain high def version of Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3 aswell as the recent PSP game Peace Walker. Sadly no version of the original Metal Gear Solid will be on the collection, so it’ll remain one of our Most Wanted.

Similarly Zone of the Enders HD Collection will contain HD version of the first two games in that series. As stated we have little info on when we’ll see these on XBLA or in what configuration or cost. We’ll keep you informed.
