Over 60 years ago, a tragedy occurred in the Daytalov Pass of the Ural Mountains. Nine Russian students lost their lives, and to this day nobody knows what really happened. First-person horror game Kholat takes these true events as its inspiration, exploring the possibilities of what may have happened on that fateful day. This open-world game has you exploring the deadly terrain of the mountains, uncovering the mysteries of the past. With nothing but a map and compass, you can explore at your own pace and uncover the truth in a non-linear fashion. The game aims to build a strong atmosphere, featuring a narration by Sean Bean (do narrators usually die?) and a soundtrack by Arkadiusz Reikowski.

Kholat was previously released on PS4 and PC to critical acclaim and sold over half a million copies. Xbox One will no longer be left out in the cold, as the game will finally be launching on the console on June 9. Pre-orders will be available starting June 2 for $19.99.
