Attendees of the San Diego Comic-Con were treated to a sneak peak of Halo: Nightfall.  The production is “led by world class talent such as executive producer Ridley Scott, Scott Free TV President David Zucker, award-winning director Sergio Mimica-Gezzan (Battlestar Galactica, Pillars of the Earth, Heroes), and written by Paul Scheuring (A Man Apart, Prison Break).”  Microsoft looks to give Halo fans something to get excited about in the time between major releases.

The live-action series, which takes place between Halo 4 and the still-in-development Halo 5: Guardians, explores the origins of Jameson Locke, a “manhunter” leading a force of Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI) agents investigating possible terrorist enterprises on the world of Sedra. While searching the planet’s surface, the team is attacked by the terrorists. Subsequent plot arcs will focus on Locke’s cooperation with a local Sedran commander who has nothing but wariness for ONI, as well as the discovery of an ancient artifact that proves increasingly dangerous. Jameson Locke will play a “major” role in Halo 5: Guardians.

Halo: Nightfall is included free of charge with the purchase of Halo: The Master Chief Collection and will be available on Xbox Live on November 11, 2014.
