Upcoming Lord of the Rings themed MOBA, Guardians of Middle-earth, finally got firm release date for XBLA this week when Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Monolith Productions announced that it will be available worldwide from December 5 for 1200 MSP. The game, which will also feature tie-ins to upcoming film The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, allows up to 10 players to compete in the multiplayer online battle arena using more than 20 iconic characters such as Gandalf, Gollum, Legolas and Sauron.

A separate Season Pass will also be made available for a further 1200 MSP providing discounted access to the game’s future DLC which is said to include extra Guardian characters, map skins and a new gameplay mode. The game and the Season Pass will also be available bundled together at select retail stores across North America for a price of $29.99 beginning December 4.
