xbox one

As was first reported by Kotaku, YouTube personality and college freshman “Moonlight Swami,” (real name Andre Weingarten) pre-ordered the next-generation Xbox One console from Target and surprisingly received it two weeks early, much like the eBay user priceless228, who also received an Xbox One early. After managing to download the day one firmware update, Weingarten went on to document this process in detail via his Twitter account, sharing details like the size of the games that are available to download whilst also showing off the user interface through multiple screenshots. Additionally, he shared the fact that it took him 17 seconds to reach the dashboard after turning the console on.

Despite this, he received a console ban after just six hours of gaming. This now means that Weingarten will not be allowed to access anything that utilizes the online functionality of the console but can still access any offline features. His unboxing video was also taken down from his YouTube page, and his account was subsequently given a copyright strike. However, the video has since been re-instated, and it has been acknowledged that the strike will be removed. Larry Hryb (Major Nelson) made sure to express that the console ban was not permanent and would be removed a few days before the global launch of the console on November 22. Weingarten was also invited to the Xbox One’s gala launch event as a guest of Microsoft.
