Patch v6.22 for Fortnite Battle Royale released today. The new update brings with it one new weapon, two new game modes, and a few gameplay changes. Bug fixes seem almost non-existent in this patch so if you’re looking for a fix for some of the bugs currently present in the game, you’re going to be highly disappointed. There’s also an announcement of a set of skins coming to the game very soon which is sure to make sports fans very happy. Here are the highlights for patch v6.22 of Fortnite.
The Heavy AR is the assault rifle that packs a punch. The weapon comes in rare variants and above, can be found as floor loot or inside chests, vending machines, and supply drops. The gun has a max clip of 25 rounds, 3.75 fire rate and deals between 44 and 48 damage, based on the rarity of the weapon. A recent update released shortly after the patch today increased the accuracy of the rifle by 20% while also reducing the recoil by 20%.
Team Terror Limited-Time Mode
Now that solos, duos, and squads have had their fair share of monster mashing, Team Terror is a limited-time mode that pits two teams of 32 against each other to be the last ones standing. Players must fight for survival not only against their enemies but against an onslaught of cube monsters that spawn from cube fragments around the map. As the game progresses, more fragments appear. Monsters still drop ammo and weapons when defeated, while gold monsters have a chance to drop a legendary weapon. Material harvesting is increased in this mode. Floor loot, chests, and supply drops all offer double ammo and consumables, and ammo boxes reward triple the ammo they normally would.
Blitz! Limited-Time Mode Returns
Players may remember the Blitz! game mode from previous seasons, and it appears its made its way back into Fortnite Battle Royale for season six. This game mode amps up the speed of the storm considerably. Players will need to loot faster and be more vigilant in their movements if they wish to stay ahead of the storm. This time around the storm is already moving as you enter the match, so players need to be cautious about where they land. Shopping carts are removed from the mode altogether. Everything from floor loot, llamas, supply drops, and even materials have been increased to balance the chances of survival with the increased threat. Profile stats do count in this mode, so wins do count towards players stats.

Fortnite Battle Royale had its epic event this past Sunday at 1 PM EST time. It was at this time that the cube exploded, causing a few interesting events to occur, one of which was the appearance of the new Leaky lake. Gone are the floating islands in the sky, and the giant twister causing a vortex in the water. Left are islands all around the remains of the lake as well as some shards of Kevin the cube. The cube fragments all around the map have vanished along with the cube monsters that spawned from them. Fortnitemares has officially ended. Now available in-game until Sunday, November 11th, 2018 are three simple challenges that when completed reward players with the “Lil’ Kev” back bling. All three of the challenges can be completed simply by playing the game. The three challenges players are required to finish to earn the reward are as follows:
- Complete 15 matches
- Earn 5,000 XP
- Outlive 500 Opponents
Weapons and Items
- The Rocket Launcher has been reverted back to its original form. (From the Pumpkin Launcher it was during Fortnitemares)
- The spawn rate of balloons has been reduced down to 2.3% from 12.2%.
- Storm damage max cap has been reduced from 10 down to 8.
