Deadliest Warrior: Legends released two weeks ago for Xbox Live Arcade to strong review scores, including our own “buy” rating. Instead of resting on their laurels, the team behind the game has been working hard to make minor tweaks to improve the overall game experience for players. They have already made two quick changes to the game and will be rolling out a full title update with additional changes. The team at 345 promised to continue to monitor other gamebreaking issues as they arise and to work on balancing the game out if other exploits begin to occur.

What has already been fixed since release:

  • There were two reaction animations (sweep hit and rising hit) that were too long, this was allowing Hannibal, Alexander, Shaka, Vlad and Wallace (and possibly others) to get infinite combo locks.  This has been fixed.
  • Fixed an issue where when attacking out of a dodge while the medium weapon was equipped would result in high and low attacks being switched.

What is included in next week’s title update:

  • You can now get the “If Anyone Khan, Genghis Khan” achievement by executing final strikes.  Also any titles associated with beating arcade mode with joke weapons can be achieved in the same way.
  • Perfectly parrying (hitting the correct button) now only costs 1 stamina instead of the normal 30.  This allows a player with very little stamina to still parry if they choose the correct button input.

Deadliest Warrior: Legends brings nearly a dozen of the fiercest warriors in history to battle in one arena. With dozens of historically accurate weapons (and a few comical ones), tight gameplay and an 800 Microsoft Point price point, the game has what it takes to stand out from the typical fighter.
