Choplifter HD‘s price tag has been given the erm chop this week seeing it drop from 1200 MSP to 800 MSP. We reached out to developers inXile Entertainment today who confirmed that the reduction is indeed a permanent one. It’s the second game this month to receive a permanent price drop on XBLA. Last week we learned that Hydrophobia was being reduced from 800 MSP to 400 MSP.

Choplifter HD was released on XBLA January this year and is the revival of a franchise first seen in 1982 on the Apple II. The game sees the player take the flight stick of a helicopter pilot traversing foreign lands ravaged by war, saving refugees. We gave the game a “Try It” score when we reviewed it, commenting on an uneven cost-to-content ratio. However it might be worth your attention now that it’s been reduced to a more palatable level. Shout out to @lifelower for spotting this one!
