New Moon Diver Screens and Art

With no hint of when Moon Diver will drop onto our consoles other than sometime in 2011 (the sooner the better), we are teased with more screenshots and character art. Feelplus inc. and Strider director Kouichi Yotsui are creating what looks to be a fast paced co-op action sidescroller in the vein of classics such as the aforementioned Strider and Ninja Gaiden. Beautiful new 2-D Fighting game for XBLA?

It seems like there is a new fighting game being displayed at PAX East, called Skullgirls. From Reverge Labs and Autumn Games, Skullgirls looks pretty shiny. Combining the unique artwork of Alex Ahad (Scott Pilgrim, Lava Punch) with advanced graphical technology, this game looks set to be visually stunning.

Although we have not got official word of Skullgirls coming to XBLA, Reverge Labs has stated on their website they are “committed to creating high-quality downloadable and online games.” This hopefully means we’ll be seeing Skullgirls on XBLA sometime this summer. This game will appeal to old-school arcade fighters, bringing a high definition twist and awesome combos to everyone’s games library. Now because I’m all about providing lovely videos/screenshots for you to all go ‘OOO’ and ‘AAH’ at: please enjoy the following:

Double Fine Gets Trenched

While hosting the Game Developer’s Choice Awards tonight Tim Schafer, Double Fine’s fearless leader, debuted the first trailer for the studio’s third downloadable title known simply as Trenched. From what’s been gathered by watching the trailer, it looks to be a mech combat game in the vein of Chromehounds where a human faction called the Mobile Trench Brigade defends itself from the Monovision, mutated television monstrosities. There looks to be an ample amount of customization for the mechs, but not much else is known at the moment.

Sadly we do not have a copy of the trailer yet, but when it becomes available it will be inserted here in this post. Until then, head to the Trenched website where you can watch it on infinite loop. If you’re curious as to what the game looks like, check out the gallery below.
