An ESRB rating now described Burnout Crash in greater detail. The entry for the game describes it as “an action game in which players earn points for creating traffic pileups.” Sounds like a standard Burnout title, yes? Well, the rating goes on to note that it will be played from a top-down perspective and will feature “‘cartoony’ vehicles”. Wait, cartoony? It gets even more interesting reading further into the entry: “In some levels, players are instructed to crash into police cars (e.g., ‘Crash them before they bust you!’); in other sequences, oversized airplanes, tornadoes, lobster monsters, and UFOs slide across the screen, destroying any vehicles in their path.”

So it’s a top-down, cartoony title focused on crashes that includes UFOs and giant lobsters. We have no idea what to think of this. Here’s hoping the game is at E3. We’ll be there looking for it.
