Surviving

Swamp isn’t the most difficult thing ever at first, but as enemies start to get more and more health keeping turrets active will be more and more imperative. Like any Survival, expect the Jacobs amounts to escalate quickly and become an issue.

In the mean time, we setup with machine gun and dampener combos at green and blue. Don’t bother with flak, it’s too narrow-focused, and you need to be prepared for all evils here. Base defense will be handled by these machine gun dampener combos to make life simple, but the rest of the map is another story. All along the outskirts of the map, especially along the back wall and the walls and ledges around Blue should be snipers. Snipers in a massive firing squad semi-circle of death. Engineers should be placing these, others can upgrade them. By wave 20 you’ll want some to be at max level, but it’s important to have quite a few as well as have them be upgraded.

Down on the ground should be mine layers intermittent with collection prongs. It’s important to fully upgrade each mine layer before placing a new one as they become incredibly powerful (some get past 1000 damage). Placing these all over the routes for C and D will be beneficial as that allows players to focus on the bridge and things they can actually see and constantly hit reliably.

As with any survival, Volt Droppers are a huge issue here. Again, don’t built flak just because there are VDs, just use sniper turrets and player snipers. In the later waves, VDs start to evaporate quickly and attention should be paid to B’s large enemies as they get a TON of Jacobs both above and below the bridge. On top of that, the bridge is relatively short so they’ll be at Green before you know it.

Stick to the power of snipers and machine guns and you’ll make it past 20 (for the achievement) for sure. Start invest in mine layers to make it past 35 (for the last bit of functional loot) and from there it’s all player skill and upgrading things to max level.

Do

  • Secure your base first
  • Keep double-dampeners at each route
  • Combine snipers and mine layers for victory

Don’t

  • Worry about flak
  • Ignore the bridge
  • Build your mine layers until the base is secure
