During Microsoft’s E3 conference this year, a new-and-improved Minecraft was announced for Xbox One. While this new version boasts bigger worlds and bigger multiplayer, the announcement left many gamers wondering what will happen to their Xbox 360 worlds. An interview on OXM originally lead everyone to believe that the Xbox One Edition wouldn’t feature any sort of cross-gen features. A recent tweet from Phil Spencer shows things have taken a turn for the better, confirming that 4J Studios is now in talks with Microsoft about transferring saves from Xbox 360 to Xbox One. If all goes well, you’ll be able to continue progress on your current worlds from your next-gen console. 4J has confirmed that they will continue to support the Xbox 360 Edition after the Xbox One launch, so players can still enjoy new updates without upgrading to next-gen.
